Patrick Douglas Kelley

With deepest sorrow, we announce that Patrick Douglas Kelley (Pat), age 63 our most beloved son, brother, father, family member and friend passed away, after several weeks of worsening health problems, on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at 6:15pm while in the hospital in Riverside, CA.

Pat was born August 11, 1956 to Richard Norman Kelley and G. Jean Kelley (Lillard) in Los Angeles, California.  Across the span of his life, Pat was always the inquisitive sort.  Pat had been a caring father for all his son Jason’s years.  Pat also exhibited skill at whatever he pursued. 

In his work life, early on, Pat became a Tool and Die maker.  Then, as a machinist, Pat cut the original four molds for the standard cast wheels for the 1984 Corvette. He later became accomplished as a supervisor building custom houses.  Eventually, Pat became a licensed soils and concrete building foundation site inspector. 

Outside of work, Pat grew up water skiing and dirt bike riding.  In the mid-seventies to the early eighties, Pat became rated at the expert level for hang gliding.  From a young age, Pat was fascinated by boats, and had three boats over the years.  His first two were inboard jet boats and his last boat was an award-winning hydroplane he fixed up to go fast and to win trophies at car and boat shows.

Those who knew Pat, even just a little, lost a true and loyal friend.  Pat will be missed everyday by his Mother Jean, Brother Mike and his Wife Kim, his Nephews Brent and Ryan, his companion Terri, his Aunt Blanche, Cousins Dianne, Daunna, Arletta, Helen, Sandy, Barbara, Steve, Rick and Terri, and many, many great friends from throughout his life and more recently with the boating community.

We know Pat is now with his Father Richard Kelley and his Son Jason Kelley and is loved here on earth as well as in heaven.  Farewell my brother.
