Paul Loren Ziegler

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Paul Loren Ziegler lost his fight with cancer on August 8th, 2021.  Paul was able to come home earlier in the day so that he could spend his last moments with his family at his side.  Paul is survived by his wife of 41 years Karen (Caruso), daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Demian Jackson, and grandson Ryder of Spokane, WA; son Paul (Tony) and daughter-in-law Kristina, and granddaughter Amelia of Morrisville, NC; and son Chris and daughter-in-law Sade and granddaughter Charlie of Wildomar, CA; as well as a sister-in-law, several nieces, other relatives, and many great friends.  A giant man, with a giant heart, Paul will be missed by all who knew him.

Paul was born on March 11th, 1951 in Maywood, California, to Ferdinand (Ferd) and Hayden Ziegler, the first of two children.  His younger brother, Karl, preceded him in death in 2005.  A member of the Gahr High School Class of 1969, Paul excelled in football and wrestling and was named Gahr High School Athlete of the Year his senior year.

Paul worked for several companies during his career as an accountant, specializing in cost accounting.  He also spent two years teaching 8th grade at Bundy Canyon Christian School.  In addition to the business world, Paul followed his love of athletics and spent 16 years as an assistant coach and scout for the Artesia High School football team, as well as coaching Pop Warner, and local football teams and volunteering with youth wrestling programs.

Paul retired in 2013.  This allowed him more time to visit his children and grandchildren, hone his skills in the kitchen, volunteer as a math tutor, and work as a prayer intercessor with the Center for Prayer Mobilization in Idyllwild.  Paul would also regularly share fellowship through Bible studies and prayer groups and teach in his home church. The only thing he loved more than his family was his Lord Jesus Christ. Papa Paul, as most referred to him, will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

A celebration to honor Paul’s life will be held on Sunday, August 22nd at 1pm at the Evans-Brown Mortuary at 27010 Encanto Dr. in Sun CIty, CA 92585. A reception to break bread will follow.
