Raymond Victorian

November 17, 1934 ~ February 9, 2018 (age 83) 83 Years Old

Raymond Victorian passed away on Friday February 9th 2018 at the age of 83 in the city of Murrieta in the county of Riverside California.

Raymond was born in Holmwood Louisiana to Mitchell and Eva (Allison) Victorian on November 17, 1934 and was the eldest of five children. Raymond’s father passed away when he was in high school and he had to begin working at an early age to help support the family.

He was married to Agnes E Brousard on October 5th 1955 in Lake Charles Louisiana and had three sons, the first being born in 1958.

Raymond joined the U.S. Navy in June of 1955 and served with United States Naval Construction Battalion (MCB3 and MCB5) better known as the Seabee’s. He was a Vietnam veteran serving two tours in Vietnam during the height of the conflict.  Raymond retired from the U.S. Navy in November 1978 after serving 23 years. During his time in the military he was awarded several Good Conduct awards, and also the Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with three Stars, and Combat Action Ribbon. While he traveled to several duty stations around the world, his family accompanied him to Port Hueneme California (our primary home), Providence Rhode Island, Adak Alaska, and San Diego California during his years of service.

Raymond was a loving husband and father. He provided well for his family and gave us life experiences that defined us as a family and as individuals. Through his actions he instilled in his sons the meaning of respect, honesty, strength, and sacrifice. These traits defined him as a man and as a role model to guide and give his sons what was needed to go out into the world and live our lives.

Raymond is preceded in death by his mother, Eva, and brother and sister, Clarence and Esther.

Raymond is survived by his wife Agnes Victorian and three sons, Raymond, Ronald, and Gary, and his brother and sister Howard Victorian and Rose Patterson. He has one grandson, Michael Victorian, and a great granddaughter, Mia Victorian. He is also survived by his good lifelong friends who served with him in the military, Leonard Valentine and Charles Williams.
