638
In loving memory of Robert Edward Gill, a Husband, Dad, Grandpa, and Best Friend.
June 18, 1950 - January 27, 2019
Bob (a.k.a. Bobby) was born on June 18, 1950 in Wichita, Kansas to parents Margaret and Frank Gill. The family consisting of his 4 brothers and 3 sisters later moved to Denver, Colorado. Growing up, he loved trains (Steam Engine 638), motorcycles, and cars (his 57 Chevy). He was a teenager at the peak of the space race which led him to electronics and a computer company called STC where he became a field engineer. He loved working on tape drives. In 1974, he transferred to Los Angeles California to continue his career solving complex problems for STC in the computer rooms of downtown LA’s sky scrapers. It was there where he met Sofia during lunch at Clifton’s on Broadway. Quickly falling in love, they started a family with three kids: Chris, Erica, and Bryan. Bob loved his family deeply and the love carried on to his grandchildren: Jayden 11, Justin 8, Emma 5, and Emily 3. After his long career, retirement, and raising his grandchildren, the Lord called him on January 27, 2019 at his home in Lake Elsinore at 68 years old. He always said that if he had to go, he would prepare a nice place for his family in heaven. He would also stay in touch through the reoccurring number 638 on clocks and license plates. He will be forever missed by his family and friends. Dad, we know you are up there watching over us, we love you.
