Robert Dean Hayes, “Bob”

Robert Dean Hayes known to friends as "Bob," passed away on April 8th 2019, at the age of 85 years.

A native of Olpe Kansas, Bob attended Emporia State University and California Western University and graduated with a Doctorate of Philosophy.

Bob also served our nation in the Navy during Korea, he ultimately retired from the Army reserves in 1994. He served his community as a college counselor at El Rancho High School where he retired in 1991.

He is survived by his wife, Marliese Hayes, Daughters, Michelle Garrett and Kimberly Taylor, sons Robby Hayes, Eric Ortiz, and Christopher Ortiz. 9 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Bob’s life will be held at 11 am, April 29th 2019 at the National Cemetery in Riverside California. He will be buried with full military honors.

ODE TO A COUNSELOR

A counselor knocked at Heaven's gate,

Full of hope and cheer.

"What did you do on Earth", Saint Peter asked,

"To gain admission here?"

"I was a high school counselor, Sir, for many and many a year."

The gates of Heaven opened wide;

Saint Peter rang a bell.

"Come in, dear counselor, come in to Heaven;

You've already had your share of Hell!"
