Robert Ing

February 11, 1933 ~ December 29, 2019 (age 86) 86 Years Old

Tribute

Robert Ing was born in Hong Kong on February 11, 1933 and passed away on December 29, 2019 in Wildomar, California.  He is survived by his three children David, Richard, & Deborah; three grandchildren Alexis, Ryan, & Kate; niece Beatrice; nephew Dominic, and his Fiancée Millie Showalter.

Robert grew up in China wherein his family owned and operated the Chen Chun Lan Tea company.  He had many half-brothers, and in high school Robert met many life-long friends, including Raymond Auyang, Joe Wu and Bob Ho.  Robert came to the United States to attend John Hopkins University.  He graduated from Tulane Medical School and started his long career practicing Medicine in Chicago as an intern at Michael Reese Hospital.  It is there that he met his first wife Hete, and they married in 1963.  Robert and Hete then moved to Toronto, Canada where all three children were born and he became established as a Pediatrician.  In 1977, Robert moved to Houston, Texas and finally settled in the Temecula, California area in 1988.  Over his long career, Robert practiced Pediatrics, Hematology, Dermatology, and Geriatrics.  As a Doctor, Robert dedicated himself to helping and serving his patients.

Robert loved life and enjoyed laughing.  He was passionate about swimming, so he made sure to swim every day.  He also loved good food, a trait that he passed on to his children.  Over the years, he enjoyed snorkeling in the Ocean, watching Kung Fu movies, traveling (especially to Hawaii), dancing, and gardening…growing plants, flowers, and fruit.  Robert was the stereotypical “bad driver.”  His driving skills were very sketchy, and he was known for also being a hilarious back-seat driver.  More than anything, he loved spending time with his family.  Friends and family will greatly miss Robert’s strong-willed spirit and loving heart.
