Steven Perry Amen, son of Max C. Amen and Sonja Amen, was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on June 28, 1946 and went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, September 25, 2022 at around 9:00 A.M. after a long battle with ALS. He grew up in Wayne, Michigan. After Steven’s mother’s death in 1962 his father moved them to Dearborn, Michigan and went on to marry Beatrice and then had two siblings. His brother Timothy resided in Michigan until his death in the spring of 2022. His sister Kathleen married Nicholas Tenson and they reside in Illinois with his niece and nephew, Tori and Nicholas. Steven belonged to the Downriver Corvette Club in his late teens and early twenties and still has his club jacket. He was always into sporting events pertaining to Football, Baseball and Ice Hockey and collected much memorabilia from sporting teams. His favorite football team has always been the Detroit Lions, just loyal that way, win or loose he was always rooting for them. Steven graduated from Dundero High School and had his first job with the State of Michigan working for Soil Materials for five years. He attended college at Michigan Technical University in Houghton MI and majored in Engineering. He went on to Henry Ford College in Dearborn, MI and was an Art Major, and then on to Lawrence Institute of Technology in Southfield, MI where he received his B.S. Degree in Architecture. He worked for John Pullman Masonry as a Senior Masonry Estimator in Rialto, CA from 1979 to 1996. He went on to work for Peterson Brothers Concrete in Brea, CA from 2001-2003. He worked for MJW & Associates, Inc. in Riverside, CA from 2003 to 2010 until the company went out of business. Thereafter, he worked for Pat Campbell at Legacy Builders until Steven Retired in 2016. During several years of employment, he had a side interest in Photography and went on to do many photo shoots for a magazine entitled Solo Solutions. His many drawings and illustrations were including that magazine. Steve married his long-time friend (since he was 33 years old) Catherine, in 2009 and moved from Newport Beach to the inland empire, where they made their life with mutual friends and church members. Steven was a man of loyalty, integrity and character and had several lifelong friends, whom he blessed with his loyalty, true friendship and kindness. Steven will be missed by all those who were blessed to know him. A Scatter- At-Sea will be determined at a later date.
