Victor Zaccaglin was born in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania on April 28, 1921 to parents Pasquale & Maria Pia Zaccaglin. He passed away on December 1, 2018 in Wildomar, California. Victor is survived by his son Victor Zaccaglini, four grandchildren Dean, Dena, Clay, and Victor; and nine great-grandchildren. Victor was preceded in death by his wife Hannah, and daughters Eileen, Ann, and Hannah Joyce.
Victor proudly served his country in the Army. He served in WWII in Patton’s 3rd Army and quickly gained the rank of Master Sergeant. After serving in the Army, he attended USC where he eventually graduated with a business degree. He was very active in local politics in Hawthorne, CA first serving as a Planning Commissioner, City Councilman, and Mayor. He went on to start a large public real estate development company, Calprop Corporation, in 1961 wherein he served as the CEO for over 57 years. As a hobby, Victor enjoyed golfing and was a very good golfer. He held the title of Champion for two years at the Bel Air Country Club. He also enjoyed traveling around Europe, and especially Italy with his son Victor.
Victor was a very determined person and a true perfectionist. This drive and personality is what helped him achieve so much in his lifetime. He and his wife Hannah were very strong Christians and very spiritual. They met in Bible School as young teenagers and carried those learnings and joy throughout their lives. This led him to build three churches over his lifetime, including the Bel Air Presbyterian Church. He served as an Elder there for many years.
Viewing and services at Evans Brown Sun City Mortuary is Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 10:00 and 11:00 a.m., respectively. Interment will follow at Green Hills Memorial Park in Ranchos Palos Verdes at approximately 1:30 p.m.
