William Oliver Haas

William “Bill” Oliver Haas, born 86 years ago in Durham, North Carolina passed away on September 3, 2020 at home in Menifee, California.   Bill is survived by his daughters Julia Haas & Kim Rodriguez; and his brother Darrell Haas.

As a young man, Bill saw a lot of the East coast as a “Navy brat”.  He graduated from Chicopee High School in Massachusetts and immediately joined the Navy.  He proudly served his country for four years.  After military service, Bill started on his career journey through several companies before working in Aerospace at Rohr, Inc. for over 32 years. 

Bill loved golfing and was a phenomenal golfer.  He played while in high school, in the Navy and throughout his life.  As a young man, he held several course records over many years.  He had the opportunity to “go pro” as a young man, but decided instead to pursue a career and start a family.  After retiring, he worked as a Marshall at General Old Golf Course.

Bill was a very generous and loving man.  His strong-willed spirit and feisty heart will be greatly missed by all whom he touched.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at Riverside National Cemetery on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at 1:00 p.m.
