Albert Hanul Chung

Albert Hanul Chung was born in Cleveland, Ohio on March 9, 1986 and passed away on August 6, 2017 in American Samoa.  He is survived by his Father Min-Young Chung; Mother Kum-Ok Kwon; Brother Steve Chung; Cousins Michael & Jason; Aunt Aera; Aunt Mi-Young; and Grandparents Byung & Ok. 

Sgt. First Class Albert Chung has been serving in the US Army for the past 13 years, and has most recently been based out of Korea. On Friday 8/4/17, Albert arrived in Samoa as part of a support group on a recruiting enlistment mission.  He tragically drowned while snorkeling at Alega Beach. 

Al enjoyed staying active and working out.  He also liked cars and watching movies.  His family described him as loving, strong-willed, loyal, caring, responsible, and reliable.  He will be greatly missed.

A viewing will be held on Monday at 10:00 am with services immediately following at 12:00 noon at Evans Brown Sun City Chapel.  Interment with Military honors will follow at Riverside National Cemetery.
