David Glenn Whittaker

David Whittaker was born in California on August 26, 1959, the son of John and Barbara Whittaker. He grew up in Ridgecrest, CA, along with his two brothers. As a young boy, David loved the outdoors of the California desert: Lizard hunting, Cub Scouts, hiking, etc. Living close to Lake Isabella and Mammoth, meant family fishing trips. And the love of the outdoors continued throughout his life. He joined the Navy after high school, and was able to travel and experience many parts of the world. After the service, he started his career in the commercial boiler industry and focusing on the growing family. His love for adventure brought him to Idaho. He committed his life to the Lord, and of serving others in Jesus’ name. Even during the severe medical issues he was forced to endure, David was always an encourager to everyone. Funny. Easy to talk with. A loyal friend and family man.   On February 24, 2017 he passed away peacefully at his home, in Idaho.  He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted family, friends and loved ones.  There will be a graveside service held to celebrate the life of David at Riverside National Cemetery, Friday April 7, 2017 at 12:00.
