It is always difficult to say good-bye to a friend ... and believe me, Howard was a friend. He and Connie were our neighbors for close to 18 years, and you couldn't ask for better people.

What I loved about Howard was watching him shoot baskets with Drew ... how hard he worked around the house [very seldom did we talk that he didn't have beads of sweat dripping from his forehead] ... his dedication as a father, husband and neighbor was without question some of the things I admired about him!

A person who is going to be missed by more than his immediate family and friends is hard to find; and Howard is one of those, who will be terribly missed by more than his family ... I am sure those who worked with him, or knew him as the friendly neighbor across the fence, is the kind of man that had a heart to match his infectious smile ... will surely be missed by a lot of people. Howard can't be replaced, but his memory and the hearts he's touched in this life, including Shelly and I, will live on forever!

My prayers are for the family to know the peace of God and His comforting hand to wipe away their tears, and hold them close to His breast in those lonely moments. I pray for you all to know Him as the Son of God who removed the "Sting of death!" through His sacrificial death on the cross. Those who know Him will surely be resurrected upon His return for the church! Peace be upon all of the Bournes family, as you come to grips with this loss, and may the hope of heaven encourage you, knowing that our loved ones are truly waiting for us to join them! Shalom!

What a wonderful man: very sweet dedicated to his family- it was a pleasure knowing him- ours sons are friends and were high school team mates so we spent some times at games and practices- watching our boys through victories and loses. It was a memorable time in our lives- I'm glad to have met such a nice man- my prayers are with the family through this difficult time. Neda Duffy
