Jerry Dean McMillin

Jerry Dean McMillin was born in Lawrence, Kansas on December 6, 1933 to parents Edward and Ruby McMillin.  He was raised in Southern California and graduated from Compton High School.  Jerry passed away on March 13, 2017 in Murrieta, California surrounded by his loving family.

Jerry is survived by his wife Joan McMillin; 2 children Marc McMillin & Jill Huth; 5 step-children Benjamin, Anthony, T, Nancy, & Suz Q; 14 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his son Michael step-children Albert & Barbara.

Professionally Jerry worked as an appliance technician.  He spent 25 years with GE and then was self-employed for 15 years as McMillin’s Appliance & Refrigeration.  He served all of the areas of Bellflower and Lakewood.  He was a very organized person and took great pride in keeping his tools and truck clean and tidy.  Jerry’s hobbies included golfing, dancing, wood-working, socializing, eating and telling jokes.  He loved his family and made it a priority to spend time with them.  For years, he dedicated every Thursday evening to his Mom whom he loved very much.  Jerry was a member of Revival Christian Fellowship.  His family and friends alike will miss his likeable heart and witty spirit.
