Joanne Jean Strange

Joanne Jean Strange was born in Lime Springs, Iowa to parents Charles and Alice Swancutt on May 13, 1933 and passed away peacefully at home in Sun City, California on September 11, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.  Joanne is survived by her husband of 62 years William Strange: 3 sons William, Stewart, and Erin Strange; 3 grandchildren Shaun, Joshua, & Ryan; great-granddaughter Sophie; 6 siblings Marjorie, Phyllis, Luanne, Marilyn, Patty, & Charles and many nieces, nephews & cousins. 

Joanne worked as a bookkeeper for over 25 years including 10 years at Hughes Aircraft.  Her hobbies included traveling, shuffleboard, crocheting, playing cards & Mah-jongg, dancing, and enjoying time at the beach.  Along with her husband Bill she traveled throughout the US and much of the world including Europe, Mexico and the Caribbean.  Joanne was a thoughtful woman and wonderful generous mother.  She was always supportive of her family and friends and enjoyed gathering everybody together for travel and fun.  Joanne Strange… A LIFE WELL LIVED!

 A celebration of her life will be held on 9/23 at Sun City Civic Hall from 12 – 4 pm.  Private inurnment will take place at Riverside National Cemetery.
