Eike and Joyce were our neighbors in Lake Elsinore. When we met the Hohenadls in 1993, we were a young couple from the East Coast with 2 young girls…Whitney and Chelsey. Eike and Joyce welcomed us to the neighborhood and were always there to lend a helping hand. Eike quickly became attached to our girls…especially Chelsey… who always showed interest in Eike's skydiver stories and pledged to someday come back to Lake Elsinore and have Eike show her around the skydiving scene.

Eike's kind spirit and chiseled physique was quite the combination. Although I was 20 years younger, Eike could work circles around me…of which I was often reminded by my wife Debbie.

Even though we moved back to the East Coast in 2001, we continue to stay in touch with Eike and Joyce through our yearly exchange of Christmas cards ... which now seems somewhat inadequate.

Eike, you are already sorely missed. Joyce, our love and prayers are with you!

Although I never heard him use the word "dude", Eike was truly a cool dude.

We had the pleasure of sharing many hours of fun filled time on three European Riverboat cruises over the past four years with Eike and Joyce. They never met a stranger and we were honored to be two of them. They made our cruises unbelievably great. Eike's talent and friendship will be missed by us and many.

Love and prayers

Literally head and shoulders above the rest, he always stood out in a crowd, with his Vietnam Veterans cap and that charming, wide grin. Eike was a proud and true American patriot, loving and living life to it's fullest. His happy and gentle voice, positive and honest attitude and free spirit were admired by so many of us. You will be greatly missed, my friend.

I met Eike in 1985 Where we both worked. Eike had just started his Sky Diving adventure and had accumulated 21 jumps. I had just returned to work having been
hospitalized From a skydiving accident that put me out of the sport. I had 331 jumps that seemed a lot to him at the time, (HA-HA) We became fast friends and with our wives spent many memorable times together.

Joyce, Yolanda and I offer our heartfelt condolences on your loss of Eike. He was my shipmate and friend and a great American. I will always cherish the memories I have of the days we spent together in the Navy Intelligence Units and the fun we shared on liberty.
